Ok, so apparently here’s how trials work here in America; first a crime is committed. Then, they investigate and decide who to put on trial for it. They then give this person to the mass media and the mass media decides weather the person is innocent or guilty.
Once decided, the trial may begin, while the 12 in the jury box are ‘shielded’ from the media’s influence, outside the court the media begins to flood every source with their opinion. If they decided innocent you will see things like ‘unfortunate victim accused of X’ while if they decide guilty you will see headlines of the ‘murderer stands trial to face justice for their misdeeds’
The court then eventually comes with a verdict and if they agreed with the mass media then justice was served, and if they disagree then they print ‘innocent man went to prison’ or someone ‘got away with murder’
What. The Hell. ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Are we as a society so filled with blood-lust that if an accused is found innocent we must protest and demand punishment anyway? Apparently so, because protestors are demanding she be punished anyway, and the judge is being pressured to deliver as harsh penalties as he can to her despite her innocent verdict.
What i find more sickening is the bashing on the jurers for disagreeing with mass media. GET OVER YOURSELVES. THEY sat in the courtroom and listened as each piece of evidence was submitted and every testimony given. THEY had to sit in an apartment without TV or newspapers to keep themselves from becoming influenced by the media. THEY did their DUTY and this is your thanks for their sacrifice?
We have got to grow out of this. Too many people think that just because they sat on their couch, flipped on their HD TVs and watched some guy on the news tell them that Casey is guilty, they are now more qualified to determine guilt and innocence than the people who actually ATTENDED every single day of the trial.
Everyone is entitled to free speech, and there is freedom of the press; but does that really mean that mass media should be allowed to treat slander as facts to fit their own agenda?

Just because someone is found innocent by 12 brain-dead morons doesn’t mean she is.
I’m sure you are confidant that she was guilty; but you can’t use speculation and what news reporters say in your conclusion. from the information I’ve read; the jurors were unable to say guilty because the prosecution failed even to prove the cause of death. It’s unfair to blame the Jurors for that.
wow, barbara. are you sure you weren’t referring to yourself as a brain-dead moron rather than the jurors? you embody everything that i loathe about 99% of the population of this country. in case your pygmy-sized brain has forgotten, the constitution states that an individual is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. AND THAT IS PRECISELY WHAT HAPPENED. its bad enough that the vast majority of you uninformed imbeciles are up in arms about anthony being acquitted (come on! the prosecution’s case was a complete joke. they brought the case to trial knowing full well that they had no physical evidence whatsoever…and people were stunned when the verdict was “not guilty”?!) but, what really gets me are people like you blaming the poor jurors. calling them all brain-dead morons is just asinine, not to mention rude. they did their jobs quite well in this case: they didn’t let their emotions get the better of them, and submitted a not guilty verdict because the damn prosecution did not prove her guilty BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT! just because you followed this case for like 5 minutes (and probably got all your information from that cunt-faced whore nancy grace), doesn’t mean you are suddenly an expert on how the judicial system in the united states works. yeah, the bitch probably did it. BUT, people need to just get the fuck over it. she was acquitted, and there’s nothing anyone can do to change it. the overwhelming ignorance and stupidity of the public in regards to the casey anthony trial makes me absolutely sick.
